Terms of Use
Last updated 3 November 2026
By using CodeAcorn you agree to these terms. If you are a student, your school’s rules for using computers and the internet also apply.
Accounts
- Accounts are created by schools and teachers. Use only your own account and keep your password to yourself.
- Don’t sign in on a shared computer with “Keep me signed in” ticked.
- A teacher or the school can turn an account off, for example when a student leaves.
Your work
- The code you write belongs to you. You let us store it, check it and show it to your teacher so the class can run.
- Hand in your own work. Copying someone else’s work, or helping someone cheat, is against these terms and your school’s rules.
- Be kind in comments. Don’t post anything rude, hurtful or private about anyone.
Using the site fairly
- Don’t try to break, overload or get around the security of the site, or to see other people’s accounts or work.
- Don’t use CodeAcorn to share harmful code or content. Student pages run in a sandbox, but deliberate misuse will be reported to the school.
Lesson content
Lessons, slides, tasks and checks on CodeAcorn are provided for learning in class. Please don’t copy or republish them elsewhere without asking.
Advertising
Public pages may show ads from Google. Ads are never shown inside classes, lessons or student work. See the Privacy Policy.
No guarantee
We work hard to keep CodeAcorn running and accurate, but it is provided “as is”. Automatic scores can be checked and changed by your teacher, whose decision is final for your grade.
